Autumn is my favorite time of year. I like the smell. I like the colors. And I love love love Thanksgiving. (Not a huge fan of Halloween anymore though). But these last few weeks have been a bit of a struggle. Illnesses. Fears. Expenses. Overcommitments. Underdeliveries. My limited self has been peeking out a lot.
But my powerful core stands out and says WAIT! Let’s remember our strengths. What to I need to bring to bear on this? How can I artfully draw out revellations that connect and inspire? Ah – yes. Connection. The art of connection.
There’s a beautiful quote by Brene Brown where she says “I define connection as the energy that exists between people when they feel seen, heard, and valued; when they can give and receive without judgment; and when they derive sustenance and strength from the relationship.” And in that it is clear that CONNECTION in relationships is what creates resiliency and strength.
So this Thankfully, it’s Thursday, I am grateful for the connections and relationships that have, do, and will continue to provide support for me. I am grateful for the ability to connect with others, to offer and provide support, and to be a part of something larger than myself. Yay for connection and how it serves me and how I serve others through it.
So today’s invitation:
TAKE FIVE minutes (set a timer) and CONNECT with GRATITUDE. What are you thankful for? What supports and gives you strength? Let gratitude envelope you.
